The weekend

We have a busy weekend full of bikes rides, board games, netflix and spending time with Dad.

We played a few different games including Candyland and Cluedo junior. We had lots of giggles playing Candyland, especially when Floyd who was coming last had to go backwards. Can you tell Mum was a bit too excited to win Candyland!! A least Floyd was a bit more humble when he won cluedo.

On Saturday night Dad set up the telescope and we got to see the moon up nice and close. We're not sure which side we were looking at as each side shows different crater patterns. Did you know they include the rabbit, the man and a crab?

We then spent time looking at the different constellations created by the stars. We found the constellation of Orion, including his belt, the stars that form his feet, and the bright star Betelgeuse. We were also able to find the planet Venus, and the Southern Cross.

Mum suddenly remembered that there were going to be a lot of satellites travelling across the sky so we were allowed to stay up late and go outside in our pj's to watch them. They are called the SpaceX Starlink satellites. There were so many of th
em that we stopped counting!!

  1. It sounds like you had an awesome time with the telescope! You're both doing such interesting things during lockdown :-)
